I currently have 215/55R17 on my car. Could I change these to 215/60R17 without causing any problems to the car.

As long as all 4 are the same size then you won’t cause mechanical issues. The sidewall is obviously bigger though, which means you could possibly have issues with rubbing. You are effectively increasing the circumference of the tyre so there is a minor effect on gearing, so you’ll be going marginally faster than before with the same speedo reading.
    What car is it?

    If it’s a mk6 Golf (?) I thought 225/45R17 was the default choice, they’re a cheap size too.

I think the sidewall would be too big on the tyres you’re suggesting tbh, I think it’d look silly.

Thanks for the reply. It’s a 2015 Passat. I thought the slightly bigger sidewall would improve the ride of the car. Was worried that the bigger tyre would effect the speedometer.

The 215/60/17 will result in a 3.4% increase in speed reading. ie at an indicated 100kmh on your speedo you will be doing 103.4 kmh but considering speedos are generally 5-10% optimistic it’ll mean your probably travelling nearer to the actual speed shown than with the original tyre.

I’d say you’d be grand. Maybe look at at 225/55. They might be cheaper and would have a similar sidewall size as the 215/60
