Towbar for a 161 passat?

Could use a towbar on my diesel 161 passat.
Have been told it's about 500 or thereabouts which is ok. But just wondering if I can get a detachable one to save spoiling the lines (will be used infrequently anyway). Are they ok?, I assume it would be a bit more expensive?
    Thanks in advance for replies.

I think the only option for those is detachable. If you look up under the middle of the rear bumper there is a removable hatch where you can mount the tow bar.

The is a VW accessory one that winds in and out of that hatch but it's probably silly money for a tow bar.
