Bora issues; radio, door lock

    Hi all.
So I just purchased an 02 Bora and have some minor issues I need to solve.

The radio was missing so I am swapping my aftermarket one from my old vectra. The Bora has two blocks, black and brown, which slide in nicely, but there is a red wire with a female connector (just a simple circle) which does not fit anywhere. I assume this is the power as there is nothing happening with the radio. Does anyone know where the red wire would fit into the black block? afaik the brown block is the speakers.

another issue is the drivers door lock does not turn at all. the only way into the car is using the passenger door to operate the central locking. its a key not a fob.
Anyone experienced this before? (note to self, never let seller unlock door lol)

is it possible to get an aftermarket remote key fob? all i can find is cases with no electronics. I have an obd2 reader which I understand can be used to reprogram fobs.

Thanks in advance and a special note, without the great advice and info gained in this forum I would not have kept the vectra going as long as i did. You are all heroes in my book.

edit, found the key fob, 12 pages of rubbish to get to what i want. I really should organise by relevance in amazon lol. I think this will work, let me know if am wrong:

Is there any chance that’s a ground wire?

Is it coming from the radio or the VW?

Is the radio that came out the standard VW one or was it aftermarket too?

Go to a professional in-car place & get an alarm system, it'll tie in with your central locking & give you the ability to operate it remotely (and your car will be alarmed). They'll be able to wire the radio correctly too.

It’s possible that the stray cable needs to be screwed to the casing of the radio to ground it.
