I've a beaver tail for Williams that I want to put a digger onto to bring it about ten miles away.
I have to check.the trailer rating for weight to be sure it's ok
    Two questions
Is there a reg to say that digger must be on a specific plant trailer?
I know I can't pull it with the car, bit there's no issue pulling it with the tractor?. All lights tax ins etc are in order.

Doing a job for a favor for a guy, don't want to leave it there in case it's lifted so I could be up.and back.a few times..

Afaik Ifor William trailers are rated to a maximium of 3500kgs due to the hitch. When calculating the payload you must also include the weight of the trailer. The chassis/hitch should have a plate stating the unladen weight of the trailer and it's maximium permissible GVW.
Your fine using the tractor as long as the digger does not overload the trailer.

You have to have a few straps on the digger and buckets . Ifor is probably 3.5t rating on hitch. make sure the tyres are correct pressure. My plant trailer runs at 90psi

Outside that what weight is the digger. My digger is 2.8t and it and the trailer are just 3.5t.

    2.8t the "legal" 3t digger.

Also, beavertails aren't ideal for carrying machines like this as, unlike dedicated plant trailers, they may not have the additional chassis cross members to account for heavy concentrations of weight in small areas. Many a 3.5t trailer has seen machines go through the floor for this very reason.
