    Hi everyone ..
How is about getting a just bought car home? I do not have a car at the moment. How is about some friend who has a car and insurance, can he drive this car home for me? How it works? Any comments welcome as i do not put friend on risk aswell

    Cheers

Your friend should be able to temporarily transfer his insurance, he should call the company he's insured with and arrange it. His own car would be uninsured for the duration of the transfer so he needs to keep that in mind but it's a straightforward process otherwise, some companies allow such temp transfers through their web portal.

Rather than having your friend transferring the insurance you can get cover over the phone immediately after you bought the car.

Insurance cover for a friend can be subject to a variety of conditions which must be fully understood. If the primary vehicle has no insurance it's unlikely another policy will extend to cover unless specifically mentioned.

Best to just call and pay and specify the time cover is provided from then drive away.

You need insurance presumably when it gets home anyway no? So get quotes (can be expensive if you haven't been insured before, try 123.ie, postinsurance, aig, chill, liberty etc) and set it to start at the date and time when you're getting in the car.
