Anyone bought their wedding rings online?

The prices I've been quoted in local jewellers for what I thought I wanted has been a little shock...A plain platinum band for E750 ????

Has anyone gone on-line? I feel a bit dubious about it for some reason...Maybe cos I don't tend to buy anything online that costs that much!

Yup, I bought mine online. I got sized and sent the sizes on to the jeweller, who made up the rings & offered to send photos of the whole process.

Who did you go with, if you don't mind me asking? Did it take long?

I went with a jeweller on etsy, who also happens to be the head jeweller in a reputable uk based jewellery shop.

It took a few weeks as I paid in instalments, however, I think the normal turn around time was about 2-3 weeks for the rings to be made & posted.

How did you know that? I'd be so nervous.

I bought my engagement ring online, was a bit nervous initially but was very happy with the service and the product. The company was Serendipity Diamonds in the Isle of Wight, UK.

I didn't buy the wedding band with them as I needed a slight dip cut into it to accommodate the engagement ring so I bought it locally.

Bought mine from a crowd in Dubai who provide wholesale to Irish jewellers

My other half got my engagement ring through Blue Nile and we had to return it to get it resized! :-D but I love it!

Have you shopped around? We got our rings made by these guys. https://www.jewelleryrepair.ie/bespoke-jewellery/ It’s a workshop. They are excellent. The quality was far superior than anything I saw in a high street jewellers. We paid more than high street but we got heavy rings. The price depends on weight so you could definitely get them lighter and cheaper ;)

If you are buying online I would recommend these guys https://buyfinediamonds.com/category/classic-wedding-ring/most_seller/ASC/0?style=63
They will send you pictures (of ring on a person’s hand) if you email them. Whenever I get around to it I will order an eternity ring from them.

I bought his ring online, about £25/£30, job done. He didn't want an expensive one. Still fine after nearly seven years.

I did via a Vegas jeweller's on eBay. Used the 'Best Offer' facility on a ring I'd been watching and got a diamond band for half the price. Now I got it sent to a mate in US who brought it back for me... not sure if I would have chanced postage and customs etc to Ireland but I would defo do it on UK site. Use a credit card for chargeback etc if anything goes wrong.

Bought mine from Aliexpress with custom engraving. Titanium. UK company was 150 Euros, Aliexpress Shop 25 Euros, I was so happy that I bought the same again with bigger sizes as Titanium cannot be resized. Or if I ever loose it, I have a spare :D

I've had a look at a few etsy shops for plain bands and I can't see anything as budget friendly as what is being quoted on here

Anyone use Edenly? The prices seem v reasonable, some big discounts but you'd wonder if all genuine? It's a swiss site.

Yep, still looking! Gave it a rest for a couple of weeks. Too many decisions in this wedding craic. Doesn't suit me!

I've made an appointment with the Wedding Band shop in Dublin. The prices seem more reasonable than the main jewellery shops and I really like the designs.

I looked at online sellers, but I'd prefer to try something on before buying as I'm looking for one with a twist or design. Online might be OK for a plain band though.

Thank you so much. I see they currently have 40% off diamond rings. Might get something here!

    Still haven't bought my ring!

My engagement ring is platinum. What would be the deal in getting a white gold wedding band? There's 300-400 dif in platinum bands and TBH I didn't buy my engagement ring and would not have known the dif. I thought it was white gold, as seems anyone who commented on it has said "ah, I love white gold!".

So appearance wise, it doesn't seem to matter but would there be issue with the 2 different metals side by side as read somewhere about one might wear the other down over time????

I imagine they would wear very differently over time as they are very different metals. I still haven't bought mine either, don't want to pay 300 quid for a plain gold band.
