Hi there just looking for somebody who may have been through one of these.
I got refused my D.A so appealed the decision and yesterday I got a letter stating I have an oral hearing in a few weeks time, just curious as to what happens at these hearings, I'm thinking it'll be like a job interview and I'll be asked lots of questions, just wondering what types of questions they'll ask, I know this is my chance to put my side across but at the same time stressing over it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't, but I have heard that it's more of a hearing to support you and takes the view that you are disabled but there may be some sort of work which you can do. They should be able to support you in finding a job which is accessible to you. It's not able claiming disability as you are disabled from all jobs.
For instance, you may have mental health issues which prevent you working with others, but you may not have considered other roles, home working, stuffing envelopes (not just that!), but you catch the drift.
They want to see what you are capable of, not just what you can't do.

You have to explain the interviewer how your illness prevents you from taking up ANY employment. It is completely up to yourself how to do this. The interviewer will only ask you questions if you are not clear enough about what is going on in your life. If you can convince your interviewer in your own words how badly your illness affects you, very few questions will be asked indeed.

Yeah that's the kind of scenario i was kind of expecting and hoping for too, gives me the opportunity to put my side across, feeling more relaxed about it now but more replies also welcomed especially from those who went through it, thanks.
