I'm celebrating the big 4-0 in May and am looking for somewhere to host a gathering of friends. Am thinking around 15 people (my closest friends) for a few drinks and finger food, and would like to book an area in a pub/bar in the city centre.

Any ideas on potential venues? Am struggling to think of any!!

    Thanks in advance :-)

Maybe O'Donoghues on Suffolk Street? There is a small bar on the top floor and they'll do food too.

Dohney & Nesbitts have a nice little function room upstairs so does the Duke (on Duke street)

Sweetmans on the quays is excellent for group occasions. lots of different areas big and small..will do you some platters if you need them too.
Other options..slatterys or black sheep on Capel st..hogans..market bar..hairy lemon..the duke..

They have a smaller room downstairs which might suit 15 better.

Lemon & Duke - you can reserve some tables, they do a full food menu up until 9pm then lighter bites after 11.30pm. We were there for 40th drinks recently and it was very nice. We had left ordering food a bit late so they did us up a platter of food for sharing before the kitchen closed, very tasty.
