Landlady dispute

    Hi all,

    Looking for some guidance here.
I have moved out of my old apartment. We had a very bad flooding (burst pipe from above) and nothing was done by the landlady. The place was destroyed and nothing was done.
I had tried to contact the landlady many times and no response. I then stopped paying rent to get to the bottom of this.
Two months later she marched in, demanded that we pay in full or face eviction without acknowledging what had happened.
We disputed this saying that we wanted a reduced rate and everything fixed which she declined. Therefore we got on our way and moved out.
Fast forward I received a letter from her at work( I never gave her my new Work details) stating I had just moved out all of a sudden(not true, she gave me notice and i moved shortly after) and faced areers to be paid in full within 7days. She stated she would trigger a legal process after 7 days.

Any advice on how to go about this, should I contact a solicitor or any other housing body?

Should I wait till what happens after the 7th day?

    Skinny

Well you shouldn't have stopped paying the rent. That won't have helped and is not allowed. How much notice was given and by who was it given and how?

We accepted that and tried multiple ways to this resolve it. We literally had no other alternative to get her to resolve it. When we eventually got hold of her but still nothing. She gave us the notice. 2/3 weeks. We just packed our stuff and left.

You did, you should have raised the issue with the RTB.

Yes, seeing a solicitor is always a good idea in such situations.
Will leave thread open for general discussion, subject to forum rule on legal advice

I was wondering if something was to proceed. Would it still be worth my while going to RTB
What is the general process here to i simply wait for something more official or act now?
    Thanks

She will have to go to the RTB, there's no leave to go directly to court. Was she even registered? If not tell her to feck off.
