    Hi all
We are thinking of going on holidays to marina di venezia in last week of Sept. Our only concerns are the weather and the mosquitos.
Has anyone been here in late Sept before? What is weather generally like? Sunbathing and swimming are a very important part of our holiday plans and does the number of mosquitos reduce later in the year?
Thanks for any info or advice.

The weather in Venice can change like the snap of your fingers at that time of year. Personally that would be too late in the year to Travel to Venice for a sunshine holiday.

If you want guaranteed sunshine at the end of September I'd look further afield than Venice. Weather could be spectacular but even in high summer we had rain and plenty of it.

Our stay was also preceded by a particularly wet spring/early summer which created perfect conditions for mosquitos. Tiger mozzies were a real problem while we were there and are the one thing that would put me off going back.

Venice & the surrounding area is essentially a big swamp so if you're going to get mosquitos anywhere it'll be there. Having said that, they're a problem in lots of places around Europe.

Canaries maybe the best bet for sun & swimming.
