There's an extensive thread on the new houses and the area in general in Accommodation & Property.

I live in the area. Its great.
Can't comment on the specific block but think in general they're all fine.

Hi PhoenixParker, thanks for that. Is there any anti social behaviour in the area? Some people just told us that as the Royal Canal Park is close to Finglas that's something to be careful and if we can we should buy something in Rathborne instead. What do you think?

    Thanks

RCP management company has cctv all over the place and security staff on site 24/7. Rathborne doesn't. There's not much difference in levels between them.

Overall there's very little anti-social behaviour in the area. Bike thefts go through spates, the very odd horse is ridden through the area and kids on those little motorbike things can be a nuisance, especially in summer. That's about the extent of it. Finglas is geographically close but not the source of many problems.

Historically Rathborne has been better due to it being closer to the train station, having more shops and as you said further from Finglas. That may change with the arrival of the Luas and Aldi but who knows.

I've lived at both ends, first renting then as an owner, and there's not much to choose. The whole area is great.

If buying in RCP make sure to get a survey done, I am aware of an apartment in there where the surveyor would not stand over the condition & safety of the balcony. The Mgmt Co was informed as balconies are their responsibility. They did nothing about it, no doubt fearing that all the balconies might have defects and need repair. All of this happened not too long after the balcony collapse where 5 people died in Berkley yet the Mgmt Co still could not see how serious it can be.

Apart from that it is a good area and when the cycle track is upgraded to a greenway it will really add to the area.
