Aircon evaporator cleaning foam

Hi lads, I'm not a heavy user of the A/C button but anyway I did the aircon maintenance that these lads do in Parkwest when I got the car (about 1.5 years ago). I generally run the fan on low, with air from outside, and a/c off. If I need the a/c at any point, it operates fine and doesn't smell at all.

Now, if I use the a/c to my destination, park the car (shopping/short visit/etc), and turn the fan on on the way back (a/c or not), the shtink comes up. (hope the description makes sense :pac: )

It smells as if humidity has been sitting inside the pipes or the evaporator or something, and the confusing part is that everything was fine while the a/c was running.

I found this video https://youtu.be/lFfhlQvBp1o where the guy is spraying this evaporator cleaning foam into the pipe, and thought it would be a good idea. What do you think? Also, this foam doesn't seem to be widely available - any ideas where to source it from?

I used wurth air con cleaner, when I first got my car, the ac would stink when I turned it on first.
One bottle of this stuff used correctly and the smell has gone for the last few years, you shouldnt turn the ac off, it allows bacteria to build up in the evaporator and smell.
Once its clean then use the AC all the time to keep it fresh.

Thanks for explaining these bits around the problem. The website doesn't let me order though (ATTENTION: Sale to trade customers only)

If not Farmpower is on the Northside up the old Mallow road behind McDonalds.
