    Hi All,

Looking around to change my 2008 Citroen C-Crosser. I don't do the mileage to justify a diesel but there is very little available in family type saloon in petrol . Need a car with a bit of towing power as well so not interested in Corolla/Focus type. Looking at the Outlander Hybrid but looks like they are outside my price range (<€15K). Are there any diesel models that don't give much issues - every model seems to have problems. The C-Crosser has been very reliable, a good hard drive every now & then sorts the DPF along with the Citroen EOLYS DPF fluid which seems to work well. Had to replace it once in 6.5 years of ownership. Cost €409 for less that 3litres (OUCH!). Any ideas. Saw a couple of Mercedes 1.8 petrol online, both C & E class, but not sure if they cost the earth to run.

    Thanks,

    T.

2 cars I'm lead to believe are pretty good in this manner but as with everything dpf related they could give trouble.

The 1.7CRDI in the Hyundai/Kia range available in the i40 for example might suit.

The older Toyota 2.0D4D available in the Avensis up to the facelift in 2015 also seems to not give dpf issues.

I don't believe any hybrid is rated for towing so the Outlander would be discounted.

Thanks Ba_Barabus. The Outlander Hybrid is the only hybrid I come across so far that will do the job. They're rated to tow up to 1500kg. Unusual for a hybrid I know.

    Must check out the Toyota

Would an imported Outlander from the UK be within budget? Should be much cheaper to land than anything advertised here - possibly get a grant if it's not that old.

    Thanks R.O.R.,

I looked at importing but I don't want to be stuck with the Citroen C-Crosser & unable to sell it. Ideally I'd like to trade it in.

    Thanks,

    T.
