posted in another thread, but started a new one,

got a quote upgrading heating controllers s part of installing new boiler, for 3 heat zones, and separate HW, and the cost below seems high, I know there is the SEAI grant and also carbon credits, but is the below reasonable for upgrading the heating, as at the moment I have 3 stats which are wired back to boiler, and one new one for the underfloor, the wiring is there but not connected to MV or the boiler at present.

    Description Total
    Distribution Manifold; 4 Zone
Provision of four zone distribution manifold, including provision of four Sauter motorised valves with boiler interlock €437

    Sauter Controls; 4 Zone
Supply & fit; 3 Amp Fused spur connection, 4 Channel digital control clock, Wireless Room Stat in Main Living Area, separate Wireless Room Thermostat for Heating Zone 2 & 3, Cylinder Stat in Hotpress, Wired & Configured with electrical Interlock to control boiler. €1,090

    Sauter Controls; Ember Gateway
Supply & fit; Sauter Ember Control Remote Access Gateway, WiFi Broadband Required*** €202

    Commissioning; Zoned Controls
Commission the Heating Controls to include the following:- Filling the heating system with inhibitor, beading and balancing all radiators, testing of heating control clocks, thermostats and boiler interlock €41

    Earthing & Bonding; C0.5
Upgrade Earthing & Bonding & hotpress to 10mm2 Cable in order to comply with SEAI regulation €47

    Subtotal €1,816
    VAT @ 13.50% €245
Total for works (inc. VAT) €2,061

is this a reasonable quote, as sparky friend said the equipment is circ €6/700, but maybe am wrong.

Also got quote to replace boiler, with Ideal 24kw, Magnaclean filter, chemical flush etc. all in €2,000, so for the boiler and the above, less SEAI grant and EI Carbon credits just over €3,000,

how does the above price seem ?

Yer talking in around 7-800 for the 4 zone wireless kit with valves and ember gateway. Distribution manifold dependent on type he goes with Probably wouldn’t be far off the mark depending on pipe layout There is the seai grant that’s worth applying for and also carbon credits which should be possible for him to claim back for you
