Where are your Euros from?

I have 6 coins and 16 notes in my pocket. 5 of the coins are non-Irish. 4 notes are Irish, 3 each Italy and Spain, and 2 each France, Greece and Holland. The (first) prefix letter indicates the country they were printed for, but they are not necessarily printed in that country.

    http://blogs.thisismoney.co.uk/2012/05/how-to-find-out-what-country-a-euro-note-is-from.html

    Spain is V, Germany X, Greece Y, France U, Ireland T, Portugal M and Italy S. Belgium is Z, Cyprus G, Luxembourg 1, Malta F, Netherlands P, Austria N, Slovenia H, Slovakia E and Finland L.

These are random notes I acquired without leaving Ireland. Maybe it is unusual but I suspect that if people check they will find mostly foreign notes. There is a site which tracks where notes have been, but I think it is less active now than in the early days of the currency.

Not yet, but seeing as it mentions foreign printed notes it's only a matter of time before it turns into a pro- vs. anti-banknote immigration thread. Then it'll be the worst thread ever in AH.

If a boards poster had three Spanish notes in one pocket and four French ones in the other what would they have?

Holiday travel alone accounts for a huge mix of the notes. Presently I have Irish, French, Spanish, Greek, Dutch and German here.

I also have a full set of coins from each of the original Euro countries. It took the best part of two years to get them all and I had to get the Greek 1 cent from their central bank, as they never circulated them.

The Luxembourg coins were the hardest to get I remember.

Whatever happened to all those Irish €2 1916 coins? I haven't seen one in well over a year, they must very rare collectors items worth about €2.

I got the Luxembourg 1 cent in the embassy but all others in Luxembourg itself.

There are quite a few of the 1916s circulating. I think people just don't notice them, Kr what's on any of the coins, any more.
