Heating working but no hot water

Can anyone advise please? Hoping there's an easy answer to this, have already paid €120 to a plumber today! We had a problem with our toilet.....some valve had to be replaced because water kept flowing into it. Since it was fixed our gas heating is working but the water isn't heating. We have a water pump which we turned off as it was constantly going because of the problem with the toilet and was getting very hot. We also turned off the water for a while so the tank probably emptied...Not sure if this had anything to do with the water not heating. I'm attaching photos of the hot water cistern etc...The water tank is on the shelf above this. We have put more water into the system...

air lock? i have an open system but hot water gets air locked sometimes so only cold comes out the taps. easily fixed by opening both taps and forcing the cold water back up through the hot water taps.

just enough time to force air back up the hot pipes . if you google you'll find out how to do it esp if you have mixer taps

What valve did you turn Off to stop the water?
Did you touch the red round handled valve on the right hand side of the picture?

I used the valve under our sink.....however that red valve may have been turned! It will only move a tiny bit....

Do you have normal flow pressure through both your hot and cold Bathroom taps?
That red valve, turn it to fully closed (clockwise) and open it back out one full (anti clockwise) rotation. See if that helps heating the water.

We have normal pressure in the taps. The red valve only moves a very tiny amount.....nowhere near a full or even half turn!!

It would appear that the valve is stuck or seized, this can easily happen with this type of valve after they are closed.
Try a little more force to go anti-clockwise with it.
Failing that, you may need to call someone out.

Alot of the time those gate valves turn a quater of a turn and then feels like it wont move anymore, give it a good forcefull turn anti clockwise and aee will it move more
