Thyroid & Pregnancy

Hi, I am hoping to find feedback. I was pregnant but recently miscarried at 10 weeks. In August of 2014 my thyroid was fully removed and since I have been on 125mg Eltroxin. When I found out I was pregnant I immediately went to my GP telling him the good news and seeking advise regarding my thyroid problems, what approach to take regarding my medication. In a very belitteling way he said that there was nothing to be worried about. This without giving me any further information whatsoever. He took my bloods and said i would get the results in two weeks, if needed be. Two weeks?! I've been reading about thyroid and pregnancy and the importance of keeping a very close eye on the TSH and T4 values, and especially in early pregnancy to have it checked every 3 to 4 weeks. Many things could have caused the miscarriage, I am not saying that this is what caused it. But as we are trying to get pregnant again, if we are lucky again to get pregnant I really want to be well informed and try to eliminate as much risk as possible. I am staying positive, and proactive and seeking other men or women who might have advise on this matter, want to share their experiences? That would help me so much. Thank you

There's a thyroid thread in here that you might find useful to read though and post in as there's other people who have been in similar situations or would know more. Also they will get alerts when you post.
It may be a few pages in so don't lose hope!

When your planning to concieve the optimal tsh is around 1-1.5 and should be monitored closely,
I think you're supposed to up your dose by 25% during pregnancy to support the growing baby.

To be fair to your doctor there's not much he can do about waiting times for blood results, the labs are taking two weeks at the moment for everyone and there's nothing any GP can do about that.
