Just wondering if anyone can offer some advice on windows. We are at the stage of our house build where we need to decide from what company to purchase. Munster joinery are coming in the cheapest and are probably going to go with them. Has anyone had good / bad experiences or can anyone recommend a different company??
    Any advice greatly appreciated!!

what is the spec on the house?
if it is just a glorified hen house then MJ would be fine, but any serious players would not consider them as the cost savings are not there when you do the full LCCA work [LIFE-CYCLE COST ANALYSIS (LCCA)]

Cheaper now means it will cost you more in the long run. Pick someone else.

I didn't go with them, cost me more but I feel I have a superior product now. Where are you based, roughly.

Put 'Munster Joinery' in the search box at the top of the page and search for 'all of boards'. You will get a wide range of posts that will allow you to make your own mind up. Be aware that some of the posts are 10 years old so filter using the box on the right to show newest first.

Just another word of warning, while MJ may not be the best type of window on the market, don't get drawn in by a superior product but a small or incompetent company. Make sure you have a large supplier who you can contact regarding any issues on or after installation.

Having been drawn in by the superior product myself but with an horrendous supplier, I'm sorry now that I did not go with the likes of MJ given all the hassle and delays incurred, has made a disaster of the entire project from both a schedule and financial perspective.

Recently used MJ for new build, after two sets of relatives did the same in the last 2 years. All of us happy to date.

That may not be the base in 5 or 10 years but that is to be seen.

From what I've read, window installation is a crapshoot.

I'd rather take a slightly inferior product (e.g. worse u value) properly installed than the best product installed by cowboys.

But how do you ensure the quality of installation?

At least with a new build you have professionals on hand to supervise. What do those people recommend? (I mean those people engaged by the OP, not the professionals who may be posting on this thread).
