Redacting documents for proof of address and PPSN

I've to renew my drivers licence next week and they are looking for proof of address and my PPSN. The proof of address should be OK as the letter from NDLS will covery that but for my PPSN I'll have to use a P60 or other letter I've got from Revenue, don't require the PSC card yet but when I do get it I'll have the same issues. So if I redact all but the pertinent information from the letter from the Revenue to just show my PPSN, name and address would that be OK? Similarly if I need to provide a bank statement can I do similar? I don't want my banking or tax details being kept by anyone other than the bank or Revenue.

I'm only looking for opinion as I'm sure that it'll come down to the person behind the counter on the day, but I'd like to have some valid arguments for presenting redacted documents

When I renewed my licence a couple of months ago, I brought a P21 from Revenue as proof of address and PPS. I didn't think to redact any info from it but the person serving me folded the P21 in such a way that only my address and PPS were visible before she took a copy. (The photocopier is right beside them at their seat.)

So they probably redact the irrelevant bits themselves but if they don't, just ask them to fold the pages over so it doesn't get copied.

I would check with the NDLS if they will accept a letter from themselves as proof of address. There is no mention of correspondence from themselves being acceptable proof of address on their website.

I'll have a backup in case. They are a State agency so should be acceptable.

Renewed last week and the person behind the counter didn't care about the redacted letter from revenue and as Valentina said they folded it for copying, they then redacted everything bar my address and PPSN. I don't know if it was because the revenue letter was recent but they returned their letter and didn't look for any further proof of address.

Great service. Booked an appointment, was called at the time and out in a few minutes. Only slight annoyance is that they don't print on site.
