Hi, I live in the passage West area and work in Ringaskiddy. At present I pass approximately 3 different sets of roadworks related to the cork main drainage project on my (once) short commute to work. This has been going on almost a year and has more than doubled my commuting time. When is this project due for completion?

    Hi Mary_2000

    Thanks for your query.

The Cork Lower Harbour Main Drainage Project is due for completion in 2019 with the final phase being the connection of Cobh town to the new sewer network.

The current roadworks are to facilitate the connection of Passage West, Monkstown and surrounds to Shanbally Wastewater Treatment Plant. I have requested further information on your behalf in order to clarify the projected timeline for this phase of the works.

In the meantime, you can view traffic updates on our website here.
You can also view the Project Brochure here.

A member of our team will get in touch as soon as we have further information. If you have additional questions, please let us know.

    Kind Regards,
    Siobhan

Hi Siobhan, thanks for your prompt response. Any further information you have in regards to traffic disruption in the Passage West, monkstown, ringaskiddy area would be greatly appreciated. As I mentioned it's going on almost a year now and is having a major disruptive impact on my day to day life. I am hoping it will be finished in my area soon and traffic can get back to normal.

    Hi Mary_2000

Many thanks again for your patience while we looked into your query.

A significant amount of work in Passage West/Monkstown and Ringaskiddy area has already been completed and we'd like to thank you for your patience to date while we continue these necessary works as we work together to Clean Up Our Harbour.

There will continue to be some disruption in the Ringaskiddy area until early Autumn 2018 and in the Passage West, Glenbrook and Monkstown areas until the end of 2018, as new pipework is laid and the road is permanently reinstated after completion of the pipework installation.

If you'd like to keep informed on the specific works that are going on weekly, the project website, www.water.ie/corklowerharbour, is updated weekly with details of roadworks planned for that week.

There is also the option to sign up to a free SMS traffic notification service by texting HARBOUR to 50015.

If you require further specific information you can also call the project team on 086 144 9548.

We hope that this information will be helpful you. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

    Kind Regards,
    Siobhan
