It's on the 3 network so should be the same as them.

Lack of short code support a major headache/ problem. Look at the VM forum for list of complaints.

No short codes = no go ever for 90% of potential subs.

    Is that STILL an issue?

Theyve claimed several times to have fixed it and then a week later somebody else posts about it.

Have been on virgin network for 6 months now. Was previously Vodafone. No complaints. Based in Ashbourne but work as a nationwide delivery driver and use my phone for Google maps. It's never failed me yet.

Work phone is on 3 and sometimes can't get a mobile signal, never mind data. And that's in Dublin. It's non existent in the country.

Would recommend Virgin without hesitation. Very happy.

Virgin Media piggy back on the Three network...

Yeah I know that and I've no idea how to explain the difference in coverage/data. But I rarely get the h symbol on the work phone, and I get 4g all over the country on my personal phone. Go figure

Sounds like you have a problem with your work phone.

Once I don't have a problem with my personal phone I don't care :pac:

Thinking of switching (now that iD is closing shop) to the Virgin €15 pm SIM only plan. Can anybody confirm whether the problem with receiving automated texts still exists ?

    International:

    Example of it being "fixed":
    https://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057830705

They seem to manually add routing for any providers you complain about, but as soon as the providers provider (Text company on behalf of bank, Google etc) changes anything it'll stop again.

To date I havent seen any sign of a systematic fix.

I live very close to a Three mast and have great signal. However, due to congestion, the internet can be quite slow. I had heard before that Virgin Mobile have a certain percent of Three's usage reserved for their customers. Would it be possible that if I swapped to Virgin, my internet would be faster due to less congestion?

If you are looking to switch you would be better off looking at 48 that are on the 3 network too. They have a 100gb data limit vs virgins 80gb limit. They are €7.99 per month for life. You also get a month free if you use a referral link to sign up.
