Vegas booking time...

Clever boardsies, looking for advice, when should I be booking for a weekend in Vegas at the end of October? I've always gone by 6months in advance is best for flights?

Also, anyone got any experience with booking hotels through a 3rd party there? I've always gone direct with the hotels but I'm getting decent savings by going though lastminute packages compared to google flights + hotel site...

Lastly, anyone got any recommendations for nice room types? Not going outrageously expensive but looking at something high up with a fountain view I think. I've done Monte Carlo and Aria before and been impressed by both in different ways (MC value for money, Aria flash).

Just remember about "Vegas Sandwich" when checking in. Worked really well last time when I was checking in in Venetian.

Hmm I'll be booking a specific room type I think so wouldn't be able to rely on it!

I've read about it before and haven't had the balls to try it!

Try it. Treat is as a gamble. You will be in Vegas :)

You can gain a lot. It is not only a room update. Just ask politely (after concierge takes your money) if they have any complementary upgrades.

I got vouchers for a free drinks in the casino plus room upgrade to suit with access to pool.

I might put on my big boy pants and give it a go this time. Concierge or just check-in desk?

Not just in vegas, this pretty much the norm anywhere I've been in the us, though I've mostly seen Americans do it

    Book everything with ebookers.

I’ve never paid more than €600 for a week all in.

    Mirage, MGM, Tropicana and Stratosphere.

MGM and Mirage were purely lucky when we got them for around 600 each, usually the trop or stratosphere tho.

Planet Hollywood was very nice too. Stayed there in August last year when my brother came over from Ireland (I live in San Francisco). We just booked via booking.com. They have some good deals on there for hotels... found them very good prices. PH is also in a great location for the strip. Very central!

Sounds incredible for the likes of the Mirage!
