I have a 2007 Volvo C30 which needs new brake discs and pads. I have always wanted to try and change these myself but always end up chickening out. I was going to order some new discs and pads online but each site seems to throw up different sizes even when I type in the reg. How would I find out the size of the discs and pads? My car is a 2.0d with 18 inch alloys.

Pads are the same yeah, it's just the front discs that are reported with different diameter? Either 278mm or 300 mm?
One way is to pull the wheel and the disc off and measure the back of across the disc.

Or you can measure disc through the alloys if you have a reliable way to do so.

Do the discs have a distinct lip on them?

I thought the pads would be the same but one site seems to be throwing up different sizes. Yeah it's 278 or 300. I'll give that a go so!
