I have a qualification in Childcare (level 5&6). Can I apply for jobs in a primary school ? Even as a junior infants teacher?

You have to do a level 8 degree in primary teaching. Maynooth and Mary I have courses.

Thank you 😊 it was very hard to find the answer online, some websites said if I have minimum level 7 in childcare. Thank you for your response

No, is the short answer, you must be a qualified primary teacher to teach any class.Junior infants is an exceptionally important year in the life of the child and deserves a properly qualified teacher. In any case, there's no such thing as being limited to any one class, you cannot expect to teach the same class all through your career- it used to happen years ago, but thankfully class rotation is now enforced in most schools for the benefit of the children and staff.
