Oil tank move - sanity check

This is half a planning and half a regs issue.

I'm planning to move my original unbunded oil tank up the garden to create space and increase oil pressure (I'll get a foot more height).

The closest boundary has a wooden fence on it.

I think the safety regs are:

- At least 760mm from a boundary fence
- At least 600mm on all sides from any non-boundary fence or green thing (hedge, bush etc).

Is there a rule about position w.r.t the front line of the house? I'm planning to move the tank just up to the front face of the house.

Brilliant, thanks. So after distance to boundary is dealt with I still need a non-combustible base:

"Non-combustible bases may be constructed of: concrete at least 100 mm thick, stonework or closely positioned paving stones at least 42 mm thick or a purpose built stand."

Since I need it off the ground to provide adequate oil pressure, that suggests a "purpose built stand" is the best idea. I guess the requirement (other than non-combustibility) is that it can take 1500kg of weight.

The contractor suggested using concrete lintels mounted on block piers at each end (with adequate foundations, presumably).

Would 100mm concrete (plus 804 or whatever underneath) do the job foundations-wise?
