Help with mobile broadband and mobile phone setup

    Hi.
Our house seems to be in a coverage blackspot. We were in the national broadband scheme and had to get an external antenna attached to the house and a repeater installed to get any kind of broadband and phone signal.
The problem the broadband is poor lately and we keep going over our broadband plan allowance which is 60gb. Three however have a new 750gb plan which I have signed up for.
Last night I tried to improve the signal by moving the router around but it didn't work. So I disconnected the repeater and plugged the router directly into the
cable from the external antenna. The broadband shot up to speeds we have never had.
Problem is it leaves us with no phone signal. Plug the repeater back in phone signal and poor broadband. Has anyone any suggestions?
I've tried three but they are no help

Was the repeater provided under the NBS or was it something you bought yourself?

It was provided by 3 under the NBS.
Mobile Network Home Repeater Hr-3cha-0202 Signal booster is the name of it

I'd go and get a second antenna and put that on the mast solely for the router. So two antennas on the mast separate feeds.

I was thinking of that. Would there be any interference between the two signals

The router will "latch onto" the strongest signal, if you've the repeater working it will naturally be stronger.

    http://www.st.co.kr/en/product/MC_6.html
Manual on this page would indicate its a rather old, so while the signal will be stronger the throughput is potentially quite limited. Especially if you've a 4G cell nearby but its being dropped in favour of the stronger repeated 3G cell.

Try forcing 4G on the router with the repeater on (if its 4G capable).

If not, wifi calling its the optimal solution but that means Eir or Vodafone, not Three.

I think I'm bunched. I rang 3 tech support today and was told there was a strong signal hitting the house from the mast but he also said both the antenna and repeater were ancient with an expected life of about 5 years. He pretty much pointed to the setup. But he couldn't give me any alternative suggestions for antenna or repeater because he would be liable if anything went wrong. Sure enough I got the new router this evening the Huawei b525 and tried it with the same results as the old router.
So on the broadband side of things could anybody please suggest a good new antenna
As regards the phone he also couldn't help. But would a separate little system do the job in a different part of the house. I was looking at Intelligent 2100mhz For 3G mobile signal booster amplifier mini 3g Repeater kit with LCD Display on adverts.ie.

Dont buy another repeater, doing so is illegal unti the law gets changed. Your telco has to give them to you (none do anymore).

    1. Keep existing antenna
    2. Connect b525 to it
    3. Move mobiles to Vodafone or Eir.

Thanks but both my wife and myself are locked into contracts. Even if we could get out of them we really have no other operator out there that works in our area. I've tried them all. So I'm afraid if we want both services we will just have to do with two working but poor services

If your wifi works so do your calls with them, any router creates the coverage. Contracts are an issue though.

If I was to use an Sma splitter and connect both the current repeater and the new modem to the main cable coming from outside. Would that service both or would the signal strength be half by splitting it?

The router has to transmit so theres no way that could work.
