Need advice

I'm 28. I have ran a business for my family till I was 23. I was never paid, I didn't even have a bed from 16 onwards. It was hell. Then this amazing man came along and took me away, a year later I cut all contact with my family and their toxic abuse. It's taken me years to literally learn how to socialise. I in a rural area, never allowed friends, nor allowed to leave the house beyond holding the shopping bags once a week. I didn't speak for days at a time. I am finally starting to become a real person who has interests and can talk to people. I haven't worked for 5 years. I feel disgusted with myself but at that time I could barely function. I can now but I am stuck. We live in a rural area, there is no buses for at least a 20min drive away and that is once a day. I need to learn to drive but there are some stumbling blocks: I don't have the money to pay for lessons which are like €500. The car he has, they won't insure me on because the engine is too high. I cannot ask him to sell it because it was given to him by him. I can't pay for insurance and the driving lessons at the same time. I can't afford a car as well.

But that means I can't get a damn job because I can't get anywhere. He needs the car for his work anyway and works 12 hr shifts in a rural area so I can't even get a job around where he is. Trust me I would absolutely love to work with him but I can't. It sounds like excuses but I was in a car accident 8 years ago, I tore the ligaments in my neck and it hurts to do most car rides but his work is manual labour with a lot of lift. If I damage my back I can't move. The pain killers do nothing anymore.

I don't know what to do, I don't know where to look. I am on disability which is cut down because it works. However that is his money and even then it isn't enough to have significant savings.

what is it you need advice on? Your post is rather confusing

You say your on disability, but then say its halfed because he works?

Who is he? A partner? If yes then disability is indeed means tested against his income. If no then you need to contact disability section and have them re means test you .

And if he is a partner surely you should be asking for his help to learn to drive? This isnt a welfare issue and there isnt any help out there to learn to drive. Also if you wanted to work on disability you would haveto get the doc and socials permission as it would have to be of a rehabilitative nature.
