    Hi guys,

Quick question... if I start a new job that pays monthly (end of month). Does that mean if I get paid monthly in arrears I won't get paid for 2 months a such?? E.g. I start at the start of January, does the first pay come in at the end of march?

    Thanks

    Should be end of Jan
Have you asked the wages dept?

Usually if you get paid monthly, you get paid at the end of the month for the month you just worked. Last few jobs I worked were monthly & it's always been that way

I haven't had a chance to get to them yet but I am just trying to budget and wasn't sure if it meant end of Jan or Feb. Thank you for your reply x

Just bear in mind that most payroll departments have a cut-off date for changes/additions and if you started after that date, you may not get paid til the end of Feb.

Yes, but if you start a new job and the way you get paid a month in arrears how does that work?

As far as I know the 'in arrears' just means that you have finished working the month & should still be paid for the month you have just finished working.

ie- you are getting paid in arrears at the end of Jan for the work you have done that month

Ahh perfect. Thanks for that! That's better than what I was thinking.
