Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Connecting 2 Bluetooth headphones to one fire tablet

    Anyone know if I could connect 2 Bluetooth headphones at once to an Amazon fire HD 7?
    Want to get the kids a set a headphones for the car while they watch a movie.
    Anyone know if it will work?

    I wouldn't think so, Bluetooth is strictly a 1-1 connection.

    EDIT: Something like this from Maplin might work?

    There maybe other alternative devices that do the same thing.

    It's not though. I have connect my bluetooth headphones to both my phone and my Surface at the same time.

    Pretty sure Bluetooth output from one device to two audio devices at once is a BT v5.0 feature. I don't think older devices with BT 4.x or earlier can do it.

    I have a Bose QC 35 which is BT 4.1 - The S8 apparently used BT 5, and the Surface Pro uses BT used 4.1. Both the S8 and the Surface can connect to the headphones at the same time, so it could be a 4.1 feature.

    The current Fire tablets should have 4.1 too.

    Most bluetooth can conenct to more than 1 device but will only trasmit audo to one at a time

    The OP was looking to connect two headphones to 1 source (phone/tablet).

    That some Bluetooth Headsets/Speakers allow you connect two source devices to them at the same time is not under debate.

    I provide a youtube and links to devices, that are able to have dual streams.

    Much easier to get one of those FM transmitters people used before bluetooth to get their music onto the car stereo.
    They can then listen on any headphones or phone with an FM receiver, and you're not restricted to two.
    You'd also have the option of putting the sound onto the car stereo if you wanted to.
