    Hi,

I am looking to see if anyone can tell me if and what rate I would be entitled to. I have been working for 12 years so I know Ill get JB for 9 months, but after that if I have not got anything else, I understand we will be means tested, but I am so confused by the calculations online and the different disregards etc!

My husbands gross is 700, 550 net, works 5 days a week.

We rent privately, have no other income and have 2 kids under 7.
    Any help greatly appreciated
    thanks

    Around €35
If your husband were to apply for FIS at that stage you would be marginally better off at approx €45.
You would also be exempt from being available for work if he applied for FIS and you gave up your JSA.

For JSA they look at how much you would get for your self, your husband and kids if neither of you are working.
    So for you that’s 380.60.
Then they look at hubbys weekly gross wage . 700.
    Then they deduct only PRSI.
    So I’m saying 60€.
So they are looking at €640.
They then deduct €20 per day up to 3 days that he works. So €640-€60=€580
    Then 60% of the €580=€348
So your means from hubbys income is €348.
Deduct the €348 from the €380 you would have been entitled to if neither of you were working.
€32.60 JSA rounded up to €35
