I see that these are starting to arrive in the shops.

What will you plant this year and any recommendations?

Orla - about 1/8th of an acre. Very good yield per plant, good taste, reliable with very low wastage and they make good chips.

Last year was my first year, just a small bed. Earlies were great but main crop got blight. Going to stick with an early crop this year and have them all out of the ground before blight can get them.

I will have a look at the Orla today. I just have a few raised beds and I am finding that I am getting more small potatoes than medium to larger ones. I usually only plant earlies.

I can't seem to get the Orla variety locally. What would you recommend in their place?

    Thanks for the links.

I tried the Duke of York last year and they were good.

Quickcrop are selling 1kg of Orla for over €6, a bit on the expensive side.
