Water Damage

    Hi All,

Long time reader first time poster, just noticed some water damage on my wall and I was looking for some advice.

I think it has something to do with the fascia and soffit, maybe water coming down from the gable and hitting the soffit down further.

Will try and put up a picture once I get the thumbs up from boards.

Any ideas out there or recommendations on how to fix it?

PM me for a link to an image if anyone is interested.

    Thanks,
    Gary

    I don't see "water damage"

Looks like the gutter is overflowing right at the end of the black section... I'd see if it needs to be unblocked...or it's possible that water is somehow running down the edge of the fascia...speak to a good roofer.

It seems the extension s finish (facia) is further out than the house. The water that runs down the edge of slate hits this edge. There is a 'slate trim' that can be fitted to the previous older edge and this should guide the water up and over the facia.
Note select the edge trim carefully. Theres a few different ones.

Thanks very much for the advice.

I think that’s what’s happening all right. Would that slate trim need to go all the way to the top do you reckon or does it start coming out on the way down to guide the water.

Any links or anything? Apologies for the questions it’s just your the first fella with a solution 😀

Thats the lads. But please make sure they are fitted correctly or all will be in vain.
