    Hi,

New dog owner here, just adopted a jack russell from the pound. She is on the small size (possible cross with daschund) and possibly about 4 yrs old.

Planning on.picking up some red mills leader sensitive dry food. I initially looked at the small dog/kibble but the largest bag is only 6kg, and the sensitive medium dog comes ina 12 kg bag which is only a couple of euro more so basically half the price. Any reason why I shouldn't get the.medium size?

    Many thanks

What are you feeding her (brand)? And what age is she approx?

Do you know what she was eating, where she came from?

Just a note, our rescue (Heinz variety :)) hated Leader. He used to place it in neat little piles around the kitchen floor.

    All the best.

I would get the smallest bag you can. I throw out any food left over after the bag has been open three weeks as it has lost most of its nutritional value by then. You also don't know if the food will suit the dog.

The reason they don't sell small dog food in bigger bags is because it does not stay fresh long enough to feed it all, even if feeding multiple dogs from the same bag.
