Thermostat Issue

    Hi All

Hoping someone might have an idea for this issue !

Last week my Netatmo thermostat stopped turning the gas boiler off so the radiators just stayed hot all the time. I have tried resetting and reversing the polarity etc.

I went out and got a standard thermostat this morning and it isn't controlling it either now. There are only 2 wires to the thermostat and 3 ports, on off and com. I have tried every combination of wires in the ports but no joy

Could it be something on the boiler as opposed to the thermostat itself ? I have a thermostat for the upstairs zone and that's controlling it with no issue

    Cheers

sounds like the motorised valve for downstairs has failed in the on position 9usually either in your hot press or below/above the boiler)

Cheers, is it something that I could sort myself do you think ?

I can see 2 blue boxes in there attached to the pipes alright

Really I can't answer that one, only you can.
Possibly the 'blue box' needs to be replaced, or the whole valve including the body.

Cheers. Turns out it's stuck in the open position

    I'll get it looked at
