    What age are your kids?

Have you considered a camp site?

We did one for the 1st time, and our 1st family holiday abroad, last year and everyone really enjoyed it.

Have you looked up Martinhal in Sagres. We're going the week of the bank holiday in May as a lot of schools are taking 2 days off then so children won't miss too much school wise. Also, temperatures aren't are high and it won't be as crowded as high peak.

Definitely recommend Olhao. Stayed in the apartments belonging to the real marina hotel. You have the hotel facilities plus a pool on the roof of each apartment block.

It's a good mid point for the east and west Algarve plus you're not swamped with English speaking tourists and warm beer.

I have 3 under 10 also and we've done campsites every year now since 2010. I'm totally converted t9 them. Tonnes for the kids to do.

Try and get one near a beach.

We usually do France or Italy. Book flights and accommodation directly for good deals. Car hire is often necessary but there are sites where you don't need a car.

    Hi Soulson,
Us too with 3 kids under 10 looking for foreign holiday. Last summer, for the first time, we drove on the ferry to France to a campsite mobile home on the west coast and it was great. The self catering of the mobile was brillant compared to getting the kids ready to go out to eat every day, and way cheaper. We only ate out once in 2 weeks (even though we expected to go out more) as it was just so nice to chill in the eve with a glass of wine while lighting the bbq. Went to a Siblu campsite, Le Bois Dormant. It was a nice size etc. Ferry & 3 bedroom mobile for 2 weeks was about 3,200euro. And if you're into wine, we spent about 250 or 300 on wine to bring home with us which would have cost about 900 here. This year we're flying to the south of France to a campsite for the better chance of sunnier weather, even though we had good weather on the west coast, but this is'nt always the case. I think the south is probably about 20% more expensive.

My 3 kids are 4,6,8 and we did our first ever camp site holiday last summer (in fact our first foreign holiday too).

Stayed for a week in Cypsela in Girona area of Spain.

Fantastic park, kids really enjoyed themselves.

Flew into Girona from Belfast, taxi to park. There was a free bus from site to beach every hour....great supermarket on site too. Would thoroughly recommend it.

We are going to Vilanova Park this year, same part of Spain.

Campsites are great for kids, definitely give it your consideration.

I booked this last week and we're flying from Belfast-Faro rather than Dublin, saved us the guts of 300e and better day flight times too.

You definitely should visit Spain. Look at these beaches https://worldcams.tv/beaches/spain-beaches . I had a family vacation on the Cadiz beach. We booked a room at the Hotel Playa Victoria. Nice territory and delicious food, clean beach.
