Hi, any advice on whether it’s worthwhile for 17 year old having a session with a career guidance professional (outside school). It’s expensive at €275. Any feedback on man in Enniscorthy offering this service?

He's pretty good, pre interview assessment will help to pull together some ideas of where ones strengths and interests lie. He's not the holy grail, you may not have an awakening but he'll certainly identify suitable career paths and relevant third level routes, appropriate to anticipated LC points.
