    Hi
Looking for some knowledge from the great boards motors members
*Disclaimer i know how to drive, and thats prob all i know about cars :D

I was away for over a month. Neighbour said once or twice my car alarm went off. Came home and three days nothing. 4th night, it went off all night, 5th/6th night is also the same and throughout the day i can hear it in the car park in work. My neighbours must hate me. Its the alarm in the boot, a piercing sound, no lights flash.

Work in the bog hole of no where, so getting to my own mechanic is a nightmare. Passed by a fast fit on Monday, he said its the battery after running low, give it a day or two more of driving and it will sort itself out. Was still going on and i rang my own mechanic, how said that doesnt really seem right, and best thing to do is bring it down to him. Being in the bog hole of nowhere makes it difficult during the week.

Is there anything I can do, or basically get someone to do for me, to sort me out for a while? Is it possible to disconnect the alarm easily (not ideal i know)? Any suggestions at all that will get me through the rest of the week?

Ive got no warning lights on my dash, car is driving fine, all electrics are fine, no leaks in the car to my knowledge.
I have of course rang a very unhelpful Audi garage whos only advice is for me to bring it in for a diagnostic at the cost of about €150.

If i could get suggestions of what to do I could bring the car to a local mechanic if i can find one but i want to be able to say 'can you do xyz' as its very easy to get ripped off when you dont know what your on about.

I'll be forever grateful if anyone can help me out on this.

A quick google suggest checking the internal siren battery for age/leaks.
You did not mention the age or model of the Audi, possibly this video will help
