Chimney issues

Hi, recently bought a new house which was built back in the 1950's or earlier I think. There are 3 chimneys in the house, one downstairs and two in each bedroom. The bedroom ones are small and I'm never going to light a fire in them. I would like to block the flue and am wondering is a chimney balloon worth buying or would I be better off blocking the chimney completely? Have seen balloons in woodie sand online at chimneyballoon.ie
    Any help would be appreciated.

they are only a temperory thing. if you are never going to use them then remove them properly. seal them off at the bottom and waterproff at the top. allow some ventilation at the top
