This will also be a mini rant.
As some of you may know a couple of months ago my father in law gave me his heap of ****e (at the time) punto diesel which I then set about slowly fixing up for potential sale.
Fixed what needed fixing and the car drives great, valeted the entire interior and bought 4 original alloys which the car would have been sold by fiat with.
Anyway after Christmas I decided to stick it up for sale and was very honest with the ad.
It's cosmetic downfalls were all mentioned and repeated by phone but that the engine and suspension are tip top.
As with prices here I popped it up for 1k and got quite a bit of interest - tested till November and insured until June.
But with one thing or another the car hasn't sold.
Now we are faced with 3 cars parked outside with 1 facing the possibility of rotting.
So I'm wondering if the below would make sense:

We are thinking of upgrading the wife's auris and it's worth roughly 5k.
Would selling the auris privately and then using the punto as a trade in or potentially as scrappage to get max value be a good road to go down?
Or simply keep dropping the price of the punto till someone decides to take it on?

As for the mini rant... why the **** do people call up, say they will come and then even text in the morning to say they are coming then decide not to bother?
We had 2 of these since yesterday.
Things of course can change and you may not want to talk about how you cant come but ffs some common courtesy for those selling the damn thing and simply text you aren't coming.
It's such a downer when you prepare everything, change your own personal plans and then you're left sitting there waiting.
Attempted to call back but just rang out.
    Eh soldier on.

Stick it out it will sell, throw ad up can have a look.
People at that end of the barrel can be tools so don't bother ringing them or chasing.
If someone wants it they will get it.

If you plan on using for scrappage most want to see car in your name for 6 months or more at times.

Car is for sale in Poland so not much use I'd say.
Gonna make a few more changes it during the week and see then.
Good point about sticking it Out, just getting fed up with the hassle with it.
3rd couple that came today wanted half off and when I refused the guy got huffy puffy and practically stormed out the drive.

That's the sort of crap you will get alright.

Some will be out for a bargain even had some over the years doing their best to get it at half acre they had someone else to sell it to.

At that end of the market, stick it on for 850 and take the first offer of 800. It'll be gone in a few days. Taking the couple of hundred hit is always worthwile just to get the car gone and stop having to deal with muppet buyers.

Already dropped it 150e tbh and it's already the cheapest on the site.
Tis a great little car to be fair to it but cosmetically it's not a looker at all.
Only 75bhp but it's nippy enough around the city and with it having aircon I thought it would be gone in days.
    Onwards and upwards.

Yip and its still on your driveway.
It's up to you, but personally, I'll always just drop the price and get it gone, it works and results in a lot less of your own personal time being wasted.
