Grundfos pump taking an hour to come on

    Hi,

I have oil fired heating system in the house, and also a stove with back boiler. The last few weeks the heating has been acting up where it is very slow to come on. I have Grundfos UPS2 pumps, all just replaced 9 months ago after having problems with the old pumps, house only built 3 years

I have the heating on timer, and one morning during the week when I was keeping an eye on it the upstairs rads only got warm 1h20m after the boiler came on. The boiler pump gets hot normally, manifold is hot also, the upstairs pump lights came on immediately, but it is not spinning at full speed, clicking noise every few seconds for the 1h20m, then fires up to speed and works as normal. I would have suspected a faulty pump, but downstairs on a different pump doing the same thing, and all replaced recently.

Would it be some kind of electrical issue? Anyone ever seen this happen before?
I cannot surely expect to have a 3rd set of pumps in as many years.

    Any help greatly appreciated
