How long do you have to be on the JSB/JSA to do a course

    hey all
    looking to do a course up in baldoyle , is there a time frame on the dole before you can do a course?

    that depends on the course, i believe to do the online basic courses sw provide theres no set time, however if you want to go to college and do acourse then you have to be on JSA 9 months first (i dont believe your time on jsb actually counts towards this, so if thats teh case you have to be on jobseekers about 18 months) And you have to show that the course is upskilling, for eg if you have a lvl 5 course done this would have to be a lvl 6 or a complete career change i believe.
    There are other things youd need to do to qualify for btea too its all outlined on the social welfare website

    is it run by the social welfare? if not then it will not be provided for thru welfare. and you would need to tell them if you take up afull time course outside of your jsb/a. As a full time course could remove you from being eligible for jobseekers as you wouldnt be available for work for those ten weeks.
    It also wouldnt get btea as its not a full time year long college course
