I have 2 young dogs as I recently said goodbye to my old dog,.I give them chicken, spinach, eggs, carrots with rice all boiled together for breakfast and a spoonful of cod liver oil. for dinner they have supervalu nuts and pedigree tins. They both have shiny coats and are happy out. Do you really think I should give them better nuts? I am on a tight budget.

Mod note... This post has been split away from an old thread.
    Thanks,
    DBB

OP why do you give them that fantastically healthy and quality breakfast, then give them such poor quality food for their supper? I feed home cooked like you do for breakfast. If you are on a tight budget, the home cooked food, buying food on special offer etc, will be at least as cheap as the pedigree and supervalu foods? Your dogs may be healthy and may always do well on poor quality supermarket foods - its all down to genetics I guess , but putting rubbishy food into them, like humans is a gamble. I would feed the home cooked food exclusively, with clever shopping you can stay within budget.

Some of the folk on here who buy quality dog food online will no doubt be along to give u some suggestions.

Good advice. Only thing I could add to it is to especially try stay away from canned food. So much worse for their teeth in the long run plus is actually quite a bit more expensive.
