Hi There, I am just looking for some up to date help from those of you who are "up to date"

I'm looking to buy a laptop for the average Irish Mother. She is proficient in using the internet and has a laptop that's going to the dump. It is going to be used 99% of the time for surfing the internet.

I am thinking a Tesco offering might be as good as any. I would really appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

Get a Chromebook. They update themselves, are relatively cheap and uncomplicated.

I got my Mum one because I was tired of trying to solve her anti-virus issues and other Windows stuff. I've used Chromebooks myself for the last 3 years without any problems at all.

I'd agree here. This is a perfect case for a Chromebook. They're generally fast performers, and are purely meant for web access. Very simple and reliable.
