Currently about to start into completely gutting main bathroom & ensuite.have been shopping around in relation to prices for fittings, like toilets, shower enclosures, vanity units etc. Suppliers in England are a lot cheaper to buy from then here in Ireland even after shipping.two in particular are QS Supplies & Soak.com.They have exactly what I want for half the price.Just wondering if anyone has dealt with either of those companies?I know it’s abit of a pain getting stuff shipped over but the saving for what I’m looking for are fairly large.TIA! Sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

I was in B&Q liffy valley during the week have some great value on bathroom ware.
Low profile large shower trays less than 200euro same with panels. Toilets and wash hand basins very well priced great selection.

I compared prices for MyLife products between places in Dublin and http://www.ajplumbing.co.uk/ in Newry. Much cheaper in AJ Plumbing and they deliver to Dublin.

AJ Plumbing have a nice big show room for bathroom products on display. Worth the drive up.

Thanks for the advice....some of the stuff I’m looking for is branded & seems a lot cheaper to buy in the UK compared to here.

make sure you weigh up the savings versus any warranty issues . its easy to pop into a local plumbing providers and explain the issue , online stores are a pain to deal with down the line. too easy for them to ignore you.
also remember the knock on costs if something is wrong and needs changing. nipping into town to swap a valve etc. also if you need to swap or change anything a local company will help you easy enough

I'm wondering about buying sanitaryware online. I see an older thread mentions an online German site (not sure if I'm allowed to mention name here). Anyone here comment on that or other online sites? If you can't mention names here, a PM would be appreciated.

One item I need is a Geberit frame for wall-hung WC. I was quoted €366.29 (inc 20% off list plus VAT at 23%) by a well-known company in Dublin. The same one on the German site is €162.18 inc VAT on the German site, but I haven't got as far as figuring out the shipping cost.

Bought off bathshack but to be honest the taps on bath and sink are flimsy rubbish.
If u are buying gerberit or some other brand fair enough but I can see us changing taps after a few years, n paying plumber again etc.
    A false economy really

Looking for good quality taps and a thermostatic shower mixer too, bought replacement sink taps in B&Q but they always go after a short while, the valves end up sticking and dont shut correctly leaving either slight flow or a drip.
Are sensor mixer taps available or even mechanical push on taps that shut off automatically?
