    Hi folks,

where would you look? No lights on dash but car idles erratically (fluctuated between 650 and 850rpms. Drives fine but cuts out at lights or when stopped in traffic. No apparent power issues-car drives fine. No codes with generic OBD reader.

    Oh oh....

This engine is unfortunately known to self destruct.

Have you had any oil warning lights appear when idle? Is the engine noisier on idle?

Hopefully its a minor fuel issue though...

Any idea if battery would be very low if car was sitting idle or used on very short few mile runs this weather?

Disconnect the battery a few mins and see if this helps when ECU resets.

This may cause your radio to ask for a code when you start up again.

Abnormal idle and hunting can be caused by a faulty suction control valve on the high pressure pump.

No warning lights of any description and no stores codes.

No, constant use. Albeit short runs. Owner gives it a good run though, weekly.

I'd say there's probably a price tag attached to this :o

Many thanks for the input lads.
