Wardrobes fitting help

    Hi All

I recently bought 2 new wardrobes, both of length 150cm. When I measured either side of the chimney breast in the bedrooms this looked fine. However, i noticed at the weekend that the wall at one of the chimney breasts doesn't look straight and when i go to measure further in i only have a width 142cm. What i did last night was remove the skirting boards to give me some space back but I still might have an issue with the space but I am starting to panick about this.

Has anyone come across this before?

I was evening thing of pushing the wardrobes in as far as possible i.e. they won't be flush with the back wall.

    Thanks

Whats the nature of the wardrobes?
Is it a built in wardrobe kit?
    Flatback standalone jobby?

Unfortunately you don't have much choice in terms of modifying the wardrobe itself or the wall.
    8cm is a fair chunk!
If it was me id be bringing it back to the shop for my money back if possible - and go back to the drawing board.

I assume the doors are hinged?
If they were over lapping sliding doors you could potentially (depending on your skills) cut 8 cm off the ends and reproduce whatever was on the end of the top/bottom panels so that it all still fits together. If there are hanging rails inside they will also need to be cut. Shelves as well.

If you're stuck with it, throw a picture of it up and you might get some more suggestions.

Thanks JNBuildExt, what i will do remove the skirting, put one together and see how far i am off, will it go in some of the way, i will send a picture to see, yeah i don't want to modify the wardrobe, i can see it being a disaster if i do that, i will send on picture, thanks for your advice....
