Hi, we finally completed our new build in 2017 and moved in, what is the story with Local Property Tax, am i supposed to contact Revenue or do they contact me?? Also, i'm being told there is a loop hole in the legislation around new builds and i'm exempt until 2019, any truth in that??

It's up to you to contact Revenue. They will most likely tell you that you need to have a valuation done on the home in order to work out the correct amount of LPT due

Interested in answer also. I understood there was a 2019 date also?

I rang the revenue today, i don't need to do anything until Nov 2020

    Any clarification on this?

    From the website

"A property is liable for Local Property Tax (LPT) if it was a residential property on the valuation date of 1 May 2013"

As selfbuilds didn't exist on that date are they exempt?

I contacted revenue and they confirmed no liability as house was built after 1st may 2013 which is the valuation day. Will be liable in 2020 for the next valuation.

Its really poorly explained this. By built I take it services were connected after this date. Takes years to get an eircode (still haven't got one),
Ordinance survey Ireland finally surveyed my property last summer and it is on the O.S map. Google maps show an empty field where my house is. Anyone know when they next google map update will be done?:o
