    What's the difference??

Every year I have been employed I applied for a p21 but this year the online system is saying I can not get a p21 because I was in receipt of a social welfare payment in 2017 (January and February)

I was unemployed for November and December also 2017 but did not claim (I went travelling)

Is the forum 12 the same as a p21? Can I expect tax back like I got every previous year??

I'm waiting on my p60 from my employer to apply for the forum 12

A form 12 is a tax return that allows you to declare additional income and/or claim additional tax reliefs/credits. The outcome is you receive a p21 which is a balancing statement for the tax year. The p21 shows if you paid the correct amount of tax for the tax year based on the information held by Revenue.

If the welfare you were getting was a benefit, not an allowance, then you are less likely to be due a refund.

Did you get a certificate from social welfare regarding the amount of benefit you received and did you upload this to the revenue site?

They had it on file already and it matched the figure I have from my own records.
I was only claiming for November to February and was out of the country for 6 weeks of January and February so very little jsb payment in 2017. I geuss that's what made the difference

Interesting that they had it on file as we have to get a cert from social welfare.
