How are they continuously passing this off as "Friday night entertainment"?

Flogging the life out of Dancing with the Stars pre-Christmas, and now First Dates Ireland, both of which are inferior products to the original. Surely the generic RTE staff member will be on at some stage later.

Meanwhile, sports coverage on the station as a whole is criminally under-funded, particularly women's sport.

If RTE put half of much thought and effort into that as they do at patting themselves on the back for delivering shows like DWTS and First Dates (and every tripe new comedy show year on year), it might just justify the license fee. And the GAA Sky Deal may not even be a thing

The funny thing is that the Graham Norton Show has lost its spark for a while now and is still head and shoulders above the LLS.

They should do it Tommy Tiernan style, and just bring out a string of unknown guests from the RTE canteen.

It wouldn't be good, probably, but it would be better than when we know already what RTE staffers they are.
