Hi, I have a 2006 Mercedes B Class that got some water in the battery compartment (located under driver's feet). I am told that it needs the fusebox and SAM replaced. I have been quoted approx 1k for repair with second hand parts or 2k with new parts.
Does this seem like a fair price for this job? Anybody know if it is a difficult job? I am tempted to source the second hand parts myself and give it a go. Thanks.

If you have looked at both there are a lot if wires and connectors so you need to be confident with that, but its not technically complicated just a lot of time and care needed moving the connections over. Have a look on youtube. They are not cheap parts new, used they could be got for about 200. 1000 is not unreasonable given the time it might take.

Main problem DIY is you many need code the sam for it to work right, that requires high level scanner / dealer tool.
If you do take it on i might be able to help with at.
